The thing about traveling is.....
It makes you even more tired and grumpy than you normally are.
Since I've been gone I'll give you more than usual for being patient with me!
Betty Thanks for the crop and for putting up my grumpy self.
News is about the same with Clipie, his is still third and they are going to bring more back (about 20 or so). When when is the question. Before second quarter next year so we are told then again we were told July, August, before November ect..... who knows...
Later girls!
Ps I made these at the crop so it might be a repeat for some of you.

Another sympathy card however it would also make a great wedding, engagement, anniversary card. I've made this and the green one yesterday for a friend who needed cards for her Grandmother and Aunt. Felted paper with MM ribbon, specialty green shimmer paper and a wal mart love phrase/embellishment.

Monday, September 20, 2010

Do you think its time to clean the scanner screen? Most all the little dots are from my scanner.
OK so if I did this card again I'd have a green trim separating both blacks but I didn't have a match so I didn't. Believe it or not its a sympathy card made with felted paper and mirrored silver where the word is. I thought it was extremely different yet I really like it at the same time.

Scary kitty Boo!

Also a lost post:
WBKO who made me laugh early this week. I try to check on the news every few days or so and I found this. "Wild Hog Heards Spreading in Kentucky"

Also this Rattlesnake story surprised me, I had no ideal! I was aware of copper heads but rattlers?

The duck rescuer

Lost post 3/13/10
Have you ever rescued ducks?

Yesterday I was scrapbooking something caught my eye. Three young men about 14/15 came down from the eastward pond and they were taking plastic dogie poo bags and just throwing them everywhere. Then they went to the middle pond in front of our apartment. One young boy started skipping rocks or so I thought at first. Every rock came close to hitting a duck that was in the pond. Well that was it I was on my feet and out to the balcony where I watched the boy throw a few more rocks. The fifth rock was large and very scary so I decided it was time to say something since his violent behavior was escalating. I asked him what he was doing and he politely ignored me so I asked him again in a voice that the entire apartment complex could hear. The kid responded back that he was throwing rocks at the ducks! He admitted what he was doing. ARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

He quickly moved on (without me asking him to stop) with his hockey wearing mask friend and co-hort and headed up towards the third and fourth upper ponds. So I turned around called the apartment complex and after a short ride with maintenance I identified the kids and they were thrown off the property. One of the boys said he lived at the complex and he wasn't allowed to come back until management could speak with his parents. Why do kids feel compelled to destruct the very community and things that are beautiful?

no gold

OK so this looks much better in person than on scanner.
Why I have no ideal it might be because it doesn't who knows.
The gold edge also does not show up. Again why I don't know.

Black and White

Let me take a break from life drama

As we all know Saturday was 9/11 instead of remembering something sad lets do happy. My niece celebrated her third wedding anniversary this past week. So I needed to make a card, I'll not tell a lie, it was very hard to be inspired. After a spin over at Split Coast Stampers I found some inspiration.

This is how I stacked up the card;

white card base

black velvet matte

velum matte

specialty paper from Hl

black xyron back with embossed wedding clothes.

elements ribbon

If you do this card its easy to misplace the bride and groom wear upside down so that the card opens backwards. I would never so such a thing then tell you would I? Or would I?

Ha ha Yes I just might.

Eat the vinyl land gods

Fyi: I only acknowledge one God in my life, his name is Jesus. So don't take any of the land god comments wrong. Jesus is my one and only.

So the land gods speak part one:

So we received not one but two darling letters from our hoa

The first letter included violations that if not repaired by October 31st will result in "legal action". OK so to me the word LEGAL ACTION can only imply one thing = lawsuit. It would be a law suit over:

(exact words are )

"Solid waste and recycle waste receptacles must be kept from sight other than for scheduled collection. This has been clarified by the developer to be screened from view from three sides. Meaning it should be screened from view on the front and sides." End quote.

I Quote:
"All mechanical equipment, utilities (phone, cable, and electrical boxes), solid waste receptacles and services areas are to be screened from public view."End quote.

Yep they are that important. So the land gods of Sutherland Farms basically gave us 48 hrs to do all this because who knows when Mr Incredible will be home next to work for the association (sadly he must take off days, he does not have, to finish up the work in the future). Whoops! work in our yard is what I meant. I really hope they enjoy the home we pay for every month, I think they should enter me in the parade of homes my decorating is so good, its a new dusty lived in look, it looks best when you only light candles and the fireplace. Its so romantic.
Had not dear wonder girl Jackie went over to my place and read the letters to me (at ten pm Thursday night) we would be saddling up and moving to bankruptcy court because I have no money for "legal action". Truthfully we had no money for the the fix but the Big Guy (aka GOD) saw to deliver our state income tax returns in a timely manner. Yes we are still wrapping up the tax year a story for later.

So lets talk about how I can cover the cans. Technically none of the trash cans will be able to be screened because any structures built in the neighborhood need to be submitted to the planning committee or such some crapola. So no built structures and fence approval? That is laughable, it takes almost six months, so no fences.

But Angie that looks like a fence in your photo? No dears its a screen. You see on the label shown its a screen so it will be screened from three sides. All done moving on. They may not like that, they may not like anything I've done, so it appears we are to be held under the scrutiny of the land gods for approval. I really hope they don't notice that my landscaping is deciduous plants.

side one: the house

side two : two panels of screen

side three:third and single panel.

So the male cow waste that they just gave me? Just hit the oscillator R & A style.

Hubby is Mr. Incredable

So yes he is still Mr Incredible.
I will later blog about the joys of home ownership. Then I will tell you about my lovely home owners association. I truly hope everyone in b.g. reads it. My hubby spent every waking moment working this weekend. I have apologized for our life circumstance (to him) a thousand times. I hate it when our life puts pressure on him. He has said very wonderful things to me this weekend, sometimes I wonder why he puts up with me.

This is what he did
Before it was bare and had more weeds than grass. Yep I admit it we plant in this same spot every year and nothing survives. I really have my doubts about this surviving but we will see. The soaker hose has been put to work in hopes it will help the green plant things live. I surrounded the plants shortly before lift off. In St. Louis we found that I'm extremely allergic to the grass with out the tails. I had welts that scared hubby so he helped rub me down with steroid cream then we followed it up benadryl cream and that has left me with one or two welts so that adventure is over thankfully.

Before trash cans:
And after:

Tomorrow I will show you just how tricky a homeowner can be!

Y'all remember bonnie D. W. said she was back in the hospital. Pray hard.

The old man

Rain, rain, don't go away
We need some cooler temperatures today.

I thought it was just the humidity yesterday but apparently it was 99 (according to the weather man) So I wasn't dreaming. hmmmm. Its pouring down and has been since 5:30 or so, its nice and cooling down the area. I don't enjoy rain all that much usually but its welcome none the less.

I'm on a mail mission today my fil has a birthday on the fourth so priority mail it is. I had a card made for him but I'm going to stat all over because his gift is a cd set about trains so a train b-day card he will get. I'll try to post it later today.

The cards currently posted are just playtime fun.

I'm hungry and I know the chicken soup in the frig is calling my name, I know quirky for this time of morning but its low in points and I've been a stickler all week so I'm sticking to it. Whatever works right?

Four weeks.

Today marks four weeks since my Mom has passed. I miss her I know I always will. I have Thank you cards to send out but its extremely diffic...
